The Seamstress Tag

Hello friends! Today I am answering questions from the Seamstress Tag, where I reminisce about my sewing past, my favourite and most disastrous makes, ponder printed vs. PDF patterns, and more… I hope you enjoy, and happy making!

I love this! Thanks for the little interlude podcast. I was only able to listen to about half yesterday, and will finish this later today. I loved hearing about your wedding gown(s).

While I did not sew my own wedding gown, I did sew 3 bridesmaids gowns and two flower girl gowns. I ordered extra trims and ribbons from the company that made my gown, and incorporated those into the gowns of the attendants.

Later on, I sewed and hand-smocked my daughter’s first communion gown and there are bits of those trims in that dress + I made her veil from my wedding veil.,Then I sewed her wedding gown, and again, used lace flowers from my own wedding gown in her gown and in the dresses for her little flower girls.

Finally, some of those same wedding gown trims were again used in the dresses I made for my granddaughters’ baptismal dresses.

I’m looking forward to a quiet moment with a cup of tea to finish watching this. Probably won’t happen today as those same young granddaughters (and now they have a baby sister) are all coming for a visit today and the house will be anything but quiet, LOL!
